Naples Clinic Expands to Provide Free Medications for Low-Income Workers

In Collier County, many working residents without insurance face a daily struggle to access the medications they need. For these individuals, managing chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes isn’t as simple as stopping by a local pharmacy — cost and access often stand in the way.

The Neighborhood Health Clinic in Naples is stepping up to close that gap. With the recent expansion of its non-narcotic medication room, the clinic now offers free, timely access to essential medications for low-income, uninsured patients. This initiative plays a critical role in helping individuals manage long-term health conditions without the added burden of financial stress. 

But the need doesn’t stop there.

Here in Naples, we have a growing aging population — many of whom have called this area home for 30 years or more. As new housing developments rise and inflation continues to climb, these longtime residents are now living paycheck to paycheck, relying on limited Social Security benefits to make ends meet. I see firsthand how this financial strain creates real barriers for my senior clients, especially when it comes to healthcare access and medication affordability.
